bibliography

Base of white stone found in the destroyed church of St. Matrona and, subsequently, in the house of the priest Protopappa.

The devotees of Sarapis (Sarapiastai) resolved: Since Epameinon son of Somenos, being a good and benevolent man who also continues to display love of honor in relation to the society (thiasos), contributed the necessary money–interest-free (atokos) money–for the purchase of wood for the society.  Therefore, so that we may have honor-loving men eager to cover the rest, the devotees of Sarapis resolved to praise Epameinon son of Somenos on account of his virtue and his love of honor which he continues to have in relation to the society; to crown him with an olive crown; and, to proclaim the crown during the Isideian celebrations (i.e. for the goddess Isis).
